60i to 24p

ok here's an easy and fast way to convert 60i to 24p using After Effects and Twixtor2 and the footage doesn't require a 1/60 shutter speed.

import the footage into After Effects twice and deinterlace each footage...one as upper field only and the other as lower field only.

import the lower field footage into the timeline, then import the upper field footage into the timeline and make ONLY the upper field footage to 50% opacity - it'll create a more realistic motion film blur.

create a new comp from the old comp and use the twixtor plugin - input 29.97 and output 23.976.

export...now you can export as a pure 24p (23.976) for dvd or you can add 3:2 pulldown via after effects

this method is way faster than magic bullet and im my opionion creates a much more realistic motion blur...now once again 1/60 shutter speed isn't required but is recommended

dont worry about the sound...it'll be in sync as 29.97 and 23.976 is exact in time, just timed differently.

this method is helpful if you want to incorporate the quot;Video lookquot; into your films.

i will keep experimenting for faster and cheaper methods via NLEs and After Effects without the need of third party plug-ins and will post them here

hope this helps someone out
