So, has anyone succeeded with Nero Vision Express 3?

Last night, for the second time, I uninstalled my older version of Nero 6 Ultra and NeroVision Express, ran the cleaning tools and installed the current upgrade of both.  I tried to burn a DVD and it choked again.  This is the fourth time this program has choked and the fourth coaster it has made.

When I rolled back to the older version I authored and burned a DVD without any problems.

Has anyone had success with NeroVision Express 3?  Any ideas if I am doing something wrong, or should I just give up on it?

Thanks,
Rob

I've gotten it to work.  It produced a DVD but in it's current form (I'm using the OEM Suite) it will only produce files with LPCM audio, which makes it practically useless for me as the audio files are so huge that the all the quality gets sucked out of the video signal to make it fit.

Also, it re-encodes everything which takes a ton of extra time.  But it did actually work.

I too had too many problems with NVE3 and rolled back to NVE2.  The only problem I have with NVE2 is the DVD picture show portion.

Don't expect much help from tech support at Nero either.  I replied to both the tech and sales line about why AC3 Audio option that is supposed to be available in Nerovision 3 is not available in mine, and also how I could get it.  (I am using Nero OEM Suite 3...)

One reply said that I could not burn MP3's as sound for DVD's (my question was about AC3 NOT MP3) and the other reply said that (AC3 is not supported on ANY of their software because it is not DVD Standard!

So, I guess I'll do my authoring in freeware... geez...

Well the OEM version is quite crippled and does not offer the Dolby 2 audio option.  If by AC3 you are looking for 5.1, none of the authoring apps I use will encode it.

Actually, I would be quite happy with 2 channel Dolby Digital.  That's what Prologic II on my receiver is for :-) .

I just didn't know if I could order the DVD plugin off the Nero website, or if I would have to pay for the upgrade to ultra... I'd much rather pay the $24.95 than the upgrade which I think is $59.95.

Does anybody know?

Bill

I just read a post over on dvdrhelp from someone who said that their NeroVision 3 won't burn DVD+R, which is what I was trying to do, but it will burn DVD+RW.  At least if I try an RW and it chokes I can reuse the disc.  Has anyone else tried this?  What about DVD-R/RW?
