Angle Removal And Keeping Original Menu

Is there any way to remove an angle from a vobset and still use the
original menu?  I have been trying with no success to remove the french language angle from THE OTHERS(R1) and still use the original
menus.  The chapter selection menu for this movie is extremely well
done and I would hate to lose it.   When separately ripped(via smartripper) each angle for this movie is around 5.8 gigs.  If I had to reencode each angle and do some Scenarist reauthor the quality loss would be too great. There are several other movies that I have run across with the same problem(some disney titles, KATE amp; LEOPOLD).  Any advice would be very welcome.
