Up-sizing / up-scaling video images in hardware
I've read many posts on this forum and others about up-scaling component video images...
When it comes to 720x480 and/or 720x576 Mpeg2/DVD images, the two most popular methods are as follows: -
Using your display device
Where-by you allow your display device to automatically up-size the image to fill all the available pixels your display contains.
Using your player
Where-by you configure your stand-alone players software to output say, 720 or 1080 images.
Of course some stand-alone players methods also offer conversion of interlaced content to progressive but both methods quot;doquot; involve some form of pixel interpolation!
But I'm interested in which method of up-scaling you guys prefer? Cheers
I have a video scaler between my dvd player and my projector, which converts from 480i to 1365x1024 progressive and does 3:2 pulldown. I'm pretty happy with it, but the nuts at avsforum would probably scoff at me. |
