Xvid film with subtitles but i want the same quality

Dear everyone,

first, i would like to say sorry if i post this message at wrong thread (hopefully not =)
and also if there is other similar thread.

The question is:

i got a film with subtitles. I know how to add in the subtitles and the encoding. But whenever after encoding, the file size will become smaller.

I got virtualmoddub , virtualdub or TMPGenc

How to encode the film with subtitles but the quality remain the same? what i mean is i want the encoded film roughly around the same size with the original. (can fit in one CDr exactly)

I hope u guys can understand what i said. Sorry for my bad english. I really hope anyone can help me. I will deeply (x1000) appreciate ur help and time.

Thanks a lot. I look forward to the reply

Are you trying to make a copy of a DVD film that you own, or are you trying to add subtitles to a downloaded movie already in XviD format?

You really need to reencode? You should just remux using direct stream copy.

try any of these to mux subs onto a avi/divx/xvid file without recompressing:

srt2bmp
guides/dmfwithxsub.html

avisub
divx/SoftwareAviSub.html

divxmuxgui
divxmuxgui

In case I'm wrong I'm sorry, but from tom6173's post I understand that the objective is to have subtitles IN the video data, and not muxed together. This cannot be done without reencoding of course (ie with VDub subtitle filter).
Sorry again if I missed the point, the double change of language  makes the meaning vague..

Thanks a lot everyone!

I will try use ricardo.santos method. I got this video from my cousin , i know how to add the subtitles in but doesnt know how to fix the quality and the file size. AFter encoding, the file size is always smaller (although the quality is still good)

thanks a lot again
