Image of Audio CD with compression creator needed

Not Sure if this is O/T or not.

I've created Audio CDs of talking books from Audio tape. Some of these are over 85mins long but i have managed to overburn them on CD OK.

The thing is I will probably keep these in MP3 format now but I still want to back up my created audio CDs. The 6 CD Set converted to an Image file (usiing Alcohol 120) is just too big for a DVD5 ( I dont want loads of Audio CD backups)

I was wondering if theres anything out there that creates an audio image CD file but compreses it. So far i have tried Power iso but it doesnt seem to work with the 85min Audio CD I've created. Is there any other program out there that can do the job?

Considering the present cost of a DVD+R or DVD-R, I'd suggest you just use two DVDs...

I see your point, however i'm a stingy git  . The thing is I would like to get the mountable backup of the complete audio book (6 tapes coverted to 6 CDs) on one DVD. Its  just over at about 5005 MB and I dont think a DVD would overburn to that level.

I'm sure i'll never use the backup when I've done it. You know how it is.

I just want to know so if I decide to back up my audio cd collection on DVD I can get more on each disk.

Rip with EAC to an image file, that you can losslessly compress with FLAC, WavPack or Monkey's Audio.

yes i know but that doesnt give me a mountable CD image file. I know I could losslessly compress them with flac etc but it would have been good to keep it as a CD image format. I might as well just zip the CD image as a quick store method. I know i'm a bit finicky but i wanted a way the archive a CD but compress it (to save space) but also have to ability to instantly access it as a CD. Guess I just want to much
