Any chance AutoGK will support .tivo file conversion? I can't get DrDivx to work and would rather not pay $30 to turn my tv shows into Divx files anyway....
Is it just naming conversion? Does it work if you rename it to *.mpg?
It seems to run fine if I name it to .mpg but the output just keeps repoening and finding a coded and reopening...
.tivo files are protected by DRM and AutoGK never asks for my password so I am thinking it won't be able to access the info inside.
Lots of info on the details at forums, and also
tivo/
figured out how to get around it, I believe also with no DRM password...
So I am holding out hope that it will work...

Please post your log file (I just wanna make sure conversion runs ok). In general if renaming to mpg doesn't work then nothing else we can do here (unless you convert input to mpg somehow before feeding into AutoGK)
Tivo files are put through the TiVoDirectShowFilter.dll which prompts the user for a playback password. Im assuming Autogk does not use directshow to access media files and this is why autogk will not work?
btw, tivo files are mpg files that are drm'ed and the tivodirectshowfilter.dll is what authenticates you.
You can use GraphEdit to open the video and then modify the output graph to remove the DRM. What is needed is an automated method for this procedure, because rebuilding the graph for every video is a pain.
But this issue should really be asked in the D9 TIVO forum, since AGK doesn't deal with DRM issues, correct?
Didn't know there was a D9 Tivo forum, found this thread originally with Google. Guess I shoulda browsed around first... |
