The new copy protection and bad sectors

How does DVD43, ANYDVD, and DVDDECRYPTER handle bad blocks in some of the new copy protection schemes? I have read that ANYDVD simply blanked out the blocks with stretches of black screen being displayed, while DVD43 actulally deleted and cleaned up the bad blocks. How about DVDDECRYPTER?

Lastly, is it true that Slysoft wants you to use ANYDVD in conjunction with CLONEDVD2, where the cleaning up works optimally, but not if you use an alternative to CLONEDVD2?

They all just insert blank sectors where the bad ones are.

It's actually AnyDVD that does the blanking and clearing up, DVD43 does not.

Yes, Slysoft would prefer you to use CloneDVD for processing, and Elby would prefer you to use AnyDVD for ripping. The two companies are in eachothers pockets.

Ok. What about the HAND in GLOVE claims about ANYDVD passing hints to CLONEDVD2, where the later program is supposed to seamlessly process the problems flagged by ANYDVD yet other progs, like DVDSHRINK, can not see the flags?

BTW, congrats on getting high marks, in testing, for ISO writing error free DVDs!

lol I couldn't comment - they'll probably sue me!

Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't

I think it's just a case of CloneDVD knowing what to expect from a rip.... or rather AnyDVD knowing what to produce so that CloneDVD will work to the best of its ability. Elby have made it perfectly clear they'll never do any special fixes to bypass any protection. Everything must be done by the ripper.

Is this something you've been doing or somewhere on the web????

Care to go into more detail?

gt;gt; Is this something you've been doing or somewhere on the web????Saw a post in some forum and I'll try to find it. Said DVD Decrypter generated more error free DVDs from ISO files than other burner programs.

AHA! Just like I've tried to hammer into peoples' heads on here, if you care about quality DVD Decrypter is the way to go  While ing Tools burns faster in your case, the errors are alot higher, I'd take the lower errors over the saved time personally. Good comparison Fandim, I'd thought about doing a comparison between Nero and Decrypter, maybe I'll do one later.
