Choosing AutoGK Resoultion
This sort of goes to the AVI undersize....I have recently encoded something to 720x320 (720 is there I forget if it is 320 or not) via AutoGK....I got the AVI undersize warning, but oh well.
Can you force AutoGK to output full 720x480 in the undersize case? Or any case. It is easy to force the 720 but what about enforcing 480 in those cases where you know it will work and quality is ok.
Just so you know, there is no viewable aspect ratio that matches 720 x 480, so even if you could force it with AutoGK, which you can't, you'd end up with a messed up image. Besides, the AVI undersize warning refers to the file size, not the image itself.

Hmmmmm, you can retain full source resolution with no cropping.
Search related thread for manual cropping;
In short open option (ctrl F9) check tune autocrop and put threshold to 0 (zero)
Make a preview and it will show you full resolution.
Did
yes I know...I thought there maybe a way via cropping or something
forgot about ctrl f9...thanks

Might be a good opportunity to give Gordian Knot a run, to get a feel for it and to find the best resolution to set in AutoGK ?
The files are ready to encode so
1) install and Start Gordian Knot - Click next x 10 and finish
2) Create and save a project (.d2v) in DGIndex -5 mins
3) Load the .d2v into GordianKnot - 1min
4) Click the Resolution tab and play !
5) Find the most suitable resolution in GK, enter into AutoGK and encode.
Your mileage may vary and if the new /avi isn't the resolution you specified search for forums for ITU and undersize/oversize.
Or encode in GK and check if the .avi is your desired resolution using GSpot or your player. |
