renamed dlls in commercial software

hmm has anyone else noticed renamed dlls turning up in commercially sold software ?
i will give 1 example (but i do know of at  least 1 other). the program quot;dvd to divx 1.4quot; contains to dlls in its drawer. initcd.dll which just happens to be the auth.dll renamed. the second is called painit.dll which if you un-upx and text search you will find is the nlame.dll (from winlame).
hmm wonder why they are renamed and where they got the idea (or maybe even source) to include them.
