Dvd Maestro time offset ..must shift one hour ?
Hi to all
At last i can post this 5 days took years...
Ok i had a lot's of question on this 5 days but i solved (almost all) reading the forums.
My problem now with maestro is like this
I create the subtiles with subrip1.06 and the chaperts with ChapterXtractor.
But when i import this on maestro only the ones starting like this
01:xx:xx:xx if it starts like 00:xx:xx:xx maestro ignore that
This happens with both subs and chapters, the solution i got on subtiles is to put the offset in 1 hour in subrip , so the file created have already the format maestro wants.
With chapeters i edit the txt file and change all the 00:xx:xx:xx to 01:xx:xx:xx and 02:xx:xx:xx
Conclusion i have to shift up a hour ...
can any 1 one explain-me why is this happening ?
thank you very much
In CCE there is a timecode setting, default is 01:00:00:00
When the encoded stream is imported into maestro to the left of the video stream this figure is displayed (SMPTE Time Offset). You can change this number to 00:00:00:00 in Maestro and then import your subtitles no problem. So no need to use a time offset in subrip.
For chapters however you do indeed have to change the chapter file like you did.
The guides recommend setting the timecode as 00:00:00:00 in CCE, although I'm not sure it has to do with anything other than convenience (i.e. no subtitle import and no chapter import troubles arise) as retail dvds have non-zero timecodes. Conversely CCE 2.66 recommends against using 00:00:00:00 but doesn't say why (however I've reauthored and watched 2 DVDs with CCE 2.66 and timecode 00:00:00:00, and experienced no problems).
I posted recently in relation to timecodes (0 replies as yet )

Thank for your information.
I'm using cce 2.50 do you thing 2.66 is better ?
thank you once again for your help
Well I'm running XP and had serious stability issues with 2.50, so I had to upgrade.
2.66 is faster for me than any previous version of CCE (although it seems to be rather machine dependent).
Also, 2.66 reportedly produces better quality video streams.
My advice is to try out 2.66.01.02 yourself and see how you like it (in particular the speed).
No ecl support though so if you want exact chapter points you have specify them in the CCE settings rather than appending them to the ecl. |
