Hi-

Nausicaa's not out in R2 Japan DVD, or any other licensed DVD for that matter. Got yourself some Hong Kong pirated versions, do you? No wonder the subs are bad.

In fact nausicaa is part of a bundle and come along with yamada, totoro, mononoke and other unknown movies but it IS R2 japanese dvd!
Subs are english and rather good but unrippable...(subs only, the picture is).
If you're interested i can mail u the ref.

. It's not due out officially until next year. To help determine that yours is pirated this may help. But yes, I'd like to see your reference. And I may be able to help you with the subs.

I'm kindda confused....I really do own this DVD and it didn't quot;smellquot; like pirate (actually my job is to encode and author dvd's).
But, following the link u posted i have to addmit that it IS a pirated bundle (i saw it in 2 sec on the website)

Anyway even if it's a pirate copy , the encoding stunned me cause it's really smooth and very few artifact are visible...and there is 2 movies on one dvd9...
The global packaging and prints on dvd's are also really good and i haven't noticed any low-quality drawing or texts.

i remember when i bought it i was really overjoyed, now i feel...confused...How are we supposed to keep ourselves in legality??
I was performing legal copy (i own the original -french law-) for the first time and the original itself is outlaw!!

really confused...

BeNPS : and about my subs?

It's the Hong Kong release for sure.
You got some quot;Anime Cartoonquot; logo on it or something like that?
You got the box that has 6 DVDs?
You got it for a low price? 60 euro?
Just to let you know, japanese DVDs are expensive like hell, if you got one single DVD for 40 Euro, you got a (really!) cheap one!
So *supposed* that you got the original japanese release (which doesn't exist as manono said), you would have paid *at least* 480 euro, since japanese DVDs never contain 2 features at once

About the subs: wait until there is an official release in the USA or in France, or try to find some fansub or script and sub it yourself
If it is just a technical problem, use VobSub to rip the subtitles. Even if it shows you quot;not detectedquot;, pick the one that corresponds to the right subtitle (0 or 1, it depends if the english or the chinese subtitle is first or second) and drive it to the right and rip it.

Yes, it is!
I have all it takes : anime cartoon logos, ugly drawing (i had a better -suspicious- look), strange translation, ugly menus...
The only probe is that i bought it at a rather high price (150€) and it was quot;recyclingquot; so i can't go complain to that shop.
In a way I feel lucky...
About the subs, do you mean that any french or english  subtiteled versions is pirated and home-made subtiteled (hoola...that's my out-of-bed-english)?
anyway THXS, i'll try technical issues too.
