Video diary with capture? (Star trek-ish) efficient, function, software, personal

Hi all, not really sure where this post should go but what I am looking for is some kind of vlogging/diary software that has integrated capture function (i.e. from a webcam). Something along with the personal logs from Star Trek. This would be grat to have on my laptop for keeping track of stuff (Maybe not more efficient but more fun). Is there any such product? The basic idea is that one can record small snippets easily and have them time-tagged and browsable.
