See my GKNOT.TXT report at the BOTTOM of this post
to help me troubleshoot
**************************************************
The video plays beautifully, just no audio!
Yes, I downloaded the AudioFilters program listed on this website.
I opened it and clicked on something called register-2k or something
like that to activate it (for my Win2k Pro OS)
I opened my movie in GSPOT and it told me no audio was present.
Okay, so I'll dealt with that by figuring I can just mux it myself
thru NANDUB...since I still have the .avi file that GKNOT spit out
and the .ac3 file that DVD2AVI spit out.
When I setup NANDUB and start the mux, the Status window just sits
there with no numbers moving, like its NOT processing.
Under Interleaving I selected 3frames, -262ms delay

Hi-
So, you got the filters. Does the audio file play fine by itself? OK, I'll assume it does, but the muxing doesn't work. The interleaving should be a multiple of 32ms, so the 80ms might not work. Why don't you try Preload of 96ms and Interleaving of 96ms and add the delay, and see if that works.
And next time in GKnot, because those figures are for .mp3 audio, try Preload of 96ms and Interval of 3 frames (32ms=1 frame).
You finally got a video, so you're almost there. Just one more step. And check your PMs. They're old now, but I wrote 'em, so you gotta read 'em.
Hi manono.. sorry for not picking up my PM's... I just went and read
them. and yes, I will do a small sample/chapter in the future.
Anyway, I played the .AC3 file thru Windows Media Player 6.4 and it
sounded very weird... I heard a slight whooshing sound going
back and forth in the background... i fast forwarded the track thru-
out the track and it keep appearing in the audio background.
Since the .AC3 file plays but plays oddly.. what do you think?
Now my system specs are kinda old:
Pentium2 450Mhz, 384mb sys-memory, Creative Labs 6x DVD-ROM Player hooked to a 133Mhz UltraATA IDE Controller card (in the Secondary Channel) in a PCI slot, my 30gb 7200rpm hard-drive is also hooked to this Controller card (in the Primary Channel)
Here is the .AVS file from the Notepad (with # lines removed):
LoadPlugin(quot;C:\PROGRA~1\GORDIA~1\mpeg2dec.dllquot;)
mpeg2source(quot;D:\Art Intel.d2vquot;)
crop(0,0,720,480)
BicubicResize(448,336,0,0.5)
Hi cornetet-
You didn't say what you used for Preload. I keep the default 500ms for MP3s, but change it to 96ms (same as Interval) for AC3.
As for the strange sounding AC3 track. I don't know the answer. I don't usually play them through WMP6.4, but I just tried and it sounds OK, so I don't think that's it. Maybe it got screwed up when decrypting. So, I'd suggest either getting the AC3 over again, or converting it to .mp3 and seeing if that sounds OK. And if it does sound OK, then use that for the audio for your first rip, and call it finished.
I think I'm cursed...
I just ran across something... My 30gb harddrive is partitioned into three 10gb sections. I ripped Artificial Intelligence (a 2.5hour movie) onto 1 partition, I then processed GKNOT using the same partition.... and guess what?
I ran out of space... Damn I'm cursed!
Interestingly though, GKNOT finished its Job processing. You'd think it would say, quot;Hey dumbass you ran out of diskspacequot; or something like that...
So here's the plan... I'll re-run everything tonight.
I'll do a small sample .VOB, I'll preview the .AVS in VDub and I'll use the PRELOADS you listed.
I'll report back... ooppss another clump of my hair just fell out.. hahaha... this stuff is stressful...
Hi-
Don't forget to crop the black bars this time. You can probably give it a higher resolution also. |
