900 odd meg files resolution, procedure, question

My procedure to ripp is smart rippergt; DVD2AVI gt; gordian knot.
I never go below best resolution because I think they look much better with lower bitrate and higher resolution. I use field deinterlace and bilinear resizeing. On some movies i select 2 cd and make the file using divx 5.02 pro and it comes out as a 900 meg file, then i do them 1 cd and they work fine. Is this the codec reaching its limit on quality or what?

You just answered your own question! The codec did reach it's limit.
