Need a program to clean up video clean, exercise, hardware, programs, always

Hey there. I need a program that can clean up some video. I have a clip that is really jumpy and jittery from an old vhs tape. Are there any programs that can analyze and clean up the video?

The image jumps a lot due to the tape degrading.

ANY any all info is always appreciated!

Try a hardware time base corrector (TBC) prior to capture. Anything else will be an exercise in futility.

Darn, I figured that was the case. Is there anywhere I can pick one of those up? (ie. radio shack?) I would assume not, so do you know of any places to get a cheap one online?

All this video stuff is more of a side job/hobby, so I don't want to commit too much of my funds. When I say cheaper, I mean in the $100 area?

I just want to get the best product for my money, if you know of any places I would greatly appreciate a point in the right direction.

My S-VHS JVC video recorder has one built in. It does wonders on VHS playback.
