Normalizing AC3 5.1ch

Hi guys,
It's my first post here although this forum has been a great source of information for me since 2004.
I've been trying to find a way to normalize ac3 5.1 audio tracks... I searched this forum a lot and I didn't find. I apologize if there's another thread broaching this subject. I tried to use Belight and AC3Machine gain's options but I couldn't notice an increase of volume. I tried normalization option too... When I opened the processed AC3 file in Adobe Audition or Goldwave, I couldn't see difference between the normalized file and the original one neither. I hope somebody can help me here.
Thanks

try this:
decode the AC3 file into one 6channel WAV - normalize with besweet or wavewizard and encode back to AC3 using f.e. wavewizard (you have to do this in two steps else your channelmapping might be wrong) or headac3 (version 15.12.2004!), BeHappy(?) or another commercial encoder. Do not use besweet for this job

Finally report back

If your source 6channel WAV is normalized 100% and after encode to ac3 with BeSweet-ac3enc, WaveWizard-ac3enc, BeHappy-ffmpeg or ffdshow you get a output ac3 50% normalized.

Try HeadAC3he v0.24-a13 with a Gain 6 dB and your output ac3 is near 100% normalized. If you use Sonic Foundry SoftEncode, and maybe another commercial encoders not tested by me, you get also 100% normalized ac3 output.
