I came across this website by way of google, and love all the information that is on it. Ive read many posts about audio but none has answered my question.
Im tring to convert .avi files to DVD's. I just got back from Iraq recently and while there had my friend put some of his DVDs on my laptop so I could watch em while I was out etc. Now that Im back in the stats I want to put them on DVD. I have read the DVD Authoring guide and understand pretty much everything in there.
Im running into two problems. Problem A is that I have perfect video every time, but almost all the time I have no sound. The one time I did end up getting sound it was off by 5 seconds. I tried the long way to do it and I just this morning tried Super DVD Creator 8. It supposedly does it all at once, converts the .avi to VOB format and audio as well. I played it and had the same problem...no audio.
Problem B is I cant get nandub running, at first I had vorbis.dll missing and then ogg.dll. Now when I try to run it, it cant access something its trying to in the Vorbis library, I have looked online and tried to find the solution but havent as of yet (anyone help me with this) because of this problem I cant extract the audio and make it a ac3 file, Ive been doing wav to mp2.
Hopefully someone can help me out with this...its getting old watching the movies with my laptop on the coffee table

Well, im guessing your in the USA right? Your region players dont always work with MP2 audio, so that might be the cause of your no audio problem.
Thanks for the response Axed. Yes I am in the US, and I did not know this about our DVD players. Ill try the VirtualDub mod and BeSweet and see if they work. If anyone else has any suggestions I am open to them as well. |
