How to record Billabong Pro Video Streaming different, learning, possible, record

Hi,

I would like to know how to record on my hard disk live video from the Billabong PRo Event?!

Please have a look to

Last year, it was .wmv extension...I could record it via Net Transport... This year it is .wvx extension (it is a link to the file but not the file!)

hmm.  it might be possible with VLC.  it's kinda a learning curve with that program as it's sufficiently different from all the others to be confusing, but i've been able to do what you say with wmv, and it's always possible that it can handle these wvx files too (i don't actually know what these are...)

make sure to include the double quotes, otherwise mplayer will misinterpret some parts of the file-path as commands...

If you are willing to spend some time, you can capture almost everything with mplayer...
Unless its f***ed with drm or something like that...
