Real Pc to Pc FrameServing
I was thinking if its possible to put up a renderfarm like 3D rendering using virtualdub or something else.
I know that virtualdub can do frameserving, but you know, using the same pc isnt of any time saving.
Before I start to put some vobs on one pc and some vobs on the others, and be forced to use only one pass encoding I thought to ask
P.S. I think it could be a really cool addition to a program like VirtualDub as it seems that someone is taking care of alternative versions. Just an idea.
This has been suggested before, and the conclusion was that unless you have a gigabit/s network, the idea is not very practical. It is simply too mych data that needs to be transfered from one PC to another. A dual processor solution is already available (AviSynth/VirtualDub) that works very good, even though it isn't quite possible to get 100% out of both processors.
I agree with you, but probably no one has ever tried this at code level or I'm wrong ?
Not as far as I know. |
