checkerboard pattern with video capture only, something, trying, video

Hi,

I'm trying to capture with VirtualVCR, as I need a capture program that supports WDM drivers.  Thing is, there's a very noticable checkboard pattern in the video (even the preview shows it).  However, when I watch TV captured with Dscaler (even with no filters on), I get no such pattern.  So it must be something with VirtualVCR.  It's as if the colors looke dithered, though it has plenty of colors (it's not 8-bit color or something).  I have a Flyvideo 2000 card.  The only oddity with VirtualVCR that I've experienced is that I cannot change PAL_B to NTSC_M (which is what I need), but I cannot imagine that being the cause of the problem.  Any ideas?

Also appears in iuVCR, so it's not just VirtualVCR.  I'll attach a capture that I took.  You can really notice the checkerboard pattern on the court.
