I'm thinking about buying this card and i'm also wondering if it will help me encode movies faster ?To be honest thats the only reason i wanna buy this card.Opinions please ?

it wont make any difference to encoding your movies thats all done via the cpu.

But ATI and Nvidia are saying you can encode video 5x faster and unload your cpu.Atis program is called avivo or something like that which will be upgraded/added new features very soon and nvidia got some hardware acceleration and you can turn it on before you start encode and this way cpu will be completely unloaded.
I'm asking if anyone can confirm this,was reading quite a few reviews and they are all saying same thing.Just making sure before i spend the money for it.
Check again what it says - I think you'll find that it's quot;render graphics,quot; not quot;encode video,quot; which is something else entirely. Encoding video with something like XviD, for example, will not in any way be affected by the quality of the video card. |
