Anyone used DVR Studio?? Get MS Visual C++ error

Looks like a promising program to use with DVB TS streams.  Downloaded the 30 trial DVR Studio Pro and ran the install file.  When I try to start the program I get nothing.  If I open Ctl-Alt-Del it shows up in the running processes, but can't seem to figure out how to get the window to show??  Is there something I'm missing to use this program like a back door command or do I have a bad copy??  I'm running Win XP SP-1.

I tried installing DVR Studio 1.03 and when trying to run it I get an error saying Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime.  Do I have to have this installed on my computer to run this program??  I don't think I do, I believe it's one of those add-on features??
