DVD-RB Pro 1.081

Hi all,

New to DVD-RB Pro... so far it is very cool and a lot easier than my old tried-and-true method (IFOEdit/DVD2AVI/CCE/DVD Maestro).  I'm especially interested in keeping the menus if possible.

I have a disc with both a widescreen and fullscreen version.  DVD-RB Pro seems to select the Fullscreen VOBs (in this case, VTS 13) as the quot;main moviequot; and the widescreen version (VTS 1) as an quot;extraquot;.

After the prepare, DVD-RB says that the main movie (FS version) does not need re-encoding.  I assume that the WS version would not need it either.  I want to strip the fullscreen version, keep the widescreen (which may not need re-encoding) and the menus... stripping all the other extras.

Settings are:  Main movie and menus only (no extras), 0% extra shrinkage.  After prepare, looking at the Preview/Edit tab shows the FS version active and the WS version quot;[BLANKED OUT]quot;.  I went through and unblanked the WS version and BLANKED the FS version.

Now, CCE is re-encoding VTS 1 (WS version) even though it likely will not need it.

Is there a way to select which VTS is the quot;main moviequot; and which one is an quot;extraquot;?

Thanks in advance...

Sorry.  But currently no.  The largest VTS is considered to be the feature.  I have it on my quot;to doquot; list, though.

endor.. instead of just unblanking the WS, set it to no reencode.

I am not sure if rebuilder checks after segment editor edits to see if the movie now fits.

This kind of situation (where one version of the film won't require re-encoding) is when I revert to shrink. Just blank the full screen version and write the files.

Ok, thanks all... after I posted that, i tried setting the WS version to no reencode and blanking the FS version.  Seemed to work (didn't CCE the WS) but the extras were messed up.... got a few of those quot;Home Videoquot; promos, the FBI warning, then a blank screen and no menu.

Oh well, I reverted to my tried-and-true IFOEdit... will try DVD-RB on my next project though.
