I am a newbie in this area of 8mm capture. I borrowed a Cine capture quot;boxquot; unit from a friend and can see the file perfectly clear through the capture opening.
When I use my Sony Hi8 analogue camcorder to capture it, I get a capture which sort of flickers with bright light in the middle. I rojected it on to a small (8inches by 8inches) screen and tried to capture it. Again the same result.
Can analogue camcorders not capture these films? Will it make a difference with a digital camcorder please? I can try and borrow one in that case.
It sounds like a frame-rate diffential problem. Your film is probably somthing like 18 frames per second, while your camcorder has 30. I would highly recommend using a digital camcorder for this, so you can use a filter for VirtualDub, like MSU's filter, to remove the flicker without further quality loss (which you could hardly afford). |
