I am using the latest dvd-rebuilder, CCE 2.7, DGDecode.dll and I am not stealing space for extras. My final size is 3.60g and I don’t know why. Can someone try to help me?
Some more info would help...
What movie ?
Are you do OPV ?
The movie I am rebuilding is collateral and it is 6.13g. No I am not using OPV. Here are my settings VBR_Bias 30, Quality Prec 24, VBR_Passes 2.
What ver of DGDecode.dll are you using?? the one that comes with DVD-RB??Try uninstalling and reinstall Avisynth 2.55, I had a problem similar to this once with DVD-RB and that fixed it.
I have tried both DGDecode.dll the one that comes with rebuild and one that I have downloaded. They both give me a final size of 3.60gb. Is there a setting the will show the final output size before I rebuild, so I don’t have to rebuild for 2hrs. to get a small output size. Is there good guide that goes over CCE settings? Maybe I am not using the right settings; I don’t know what is going on. I have been doing this for 3 days know and it is driving me crazy.
Using the newest ver of DGDecode.dll
When encoding a NTSC dvd with CCE what should the frame rate be set to 23.976 or 29.97?
NTSC is 29.97 fps.
So what am I doing wrong? When I rebuild a NTSC DVD and put the CCE settings at 23.976fps I get a final size of 4.32gb. When I use the 29.97fps setting I get a final size of 3.60gb. Can someone tell why this is happening?
or the newest listed in the many DVD-RB threads as compatible?
There are various reasons for undersized output. You will probably need to post your log. Running the Prepare stage in OPV mode could provide some additional information as well, as we've seen very recently.
Using the newest ver of DGDecode.dll
New ver of DGDecode.dll is not compatible with DVD-RB and that would be your sizing problem.
Try this one, it will help
Does RB work with CCE SP 2.70.02.00

RB works with it, but that version of CCE is still quite buggy for alot of people.
SpazzHH or anyone else,
What is the most stable CCE SP version for RB?
Thanks

I think general opinion has 2.67.00.27 for P4's and 2.50 for AMD's giving the fewest problems.

try putting this in your dvd rb ini quot; ccetargetsectors=2259000 quot;
in the option section.leave your bias and q at the default settings.then 4 passes and you should get 4.37.i hit this mark every time.

What do you mean by quot;put the settingsquot; -- you're modifying the ECL? Please don't do that -- it doesn't have the same impact you may think it does when using DVD-RB. Are you sure quot;putting the settingsquot; isn't what is causing the undersizing to begin with?
You're not loading the ECL directly into CCE and making changes are you?
This is what I am doing:
I have encoded in two different ways.
First way:
Step One: DVD to hard drive using DVD decrypter in file mode.
Step Two: I set the rebuild source, working, output, and application paths. Then hit prepare.
Step Three: After the prepare phase is done I encode. When I press the encode button on the rebuild, the CCE program pops up. (This is where I think I am screwing up.) I double click on the title in the CCE window and a settings window pops up. This is the quot;settingsquot; that I am talking about. I changed the fps from 23.976 to 29.97 and that’s when I get the under sizing.
Step Four: Rebuild
Second way:
Step One: Same as the first way.
Step Two: Same as the first way
Step Three: When the CCE program pops up I DO NOT double click what’s in the title window , I just press the encode button. (I don’t mess with settings) When I do it this way I get a final size of 4.32gb
Step Four: Rebuild
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that has help.
@ Sandman21,

Oh, you are using CCE SP 2.70 and you don't have to do that.... damm should have saw that earlier. In DVD-RB setup where you set the path for the encoder... check quot;Run Encoder(s) Minimizedquot; ... there is a bug with CCE SP 2.70.02 that it will not start encoding automaticlly without this turned on. that should do it for you.
... and DON'T change the framerate!!! DVD-RB sets a common denominator for framerate as a method of ensuring hybrid streams are correctly reproduced. The output will be correctly set to the proper framerate upon rebuild.
The output of 4.32 is exactly the target for which DVD-RB aims. |
