Anti-Virus software causes video distortion problems

After many failed DVD2SVCD conversions it occurred to me that my Anti-Virus software may be the problem. I turned off my etrust Anti-Virus/Firewall software and about 99% of my problems dissappeared.

As long as you're not online I would recommend turning that sh*t off.

I also discovered that this Anti-Virus/Firewall was seriously causing problems in several other applications. The thing is, the problems caused are totally transparent. You think you're screwing up somewhere.

Of course, when you're Anti-Virus/Firewall is off DO NOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET OR DO EMAIL !!!

I wish to God this warning was one of the very first things mentioned on the DVD2SVCD home page. I must have thrown out 200 to 300 CD's of DVD backups I had made. I went ahead with doing backups after I got one that was apparently 100% good, not realizing it was just a lucky fluke that my Anti-Virus/Firewall didn't screw up somehow. If I knew ahead of time the problems I would have, I would have never got started with DVD2SVCD conversions.

It would make much more sense to get a DVD burner. Man, the thousands of hours computer time wasted and the CD expenses down the drain.
