Hollywood is pushing the Federal Communications Commission to forcibly implant copy-protection technology in digital television receivers. The FCC is weighing a plan to mandate this quot;broadcast flagquot; which will govern what you are allowed to do with the digital television you receive and will likely take away many of the fair-use rights you have today.

I wrote a paper and gave a speech on this subject for my computer ethics class.  This is a very touchy subject and I feel it is something that was decided in a previous court case Sony vs. Universal (1984).  If you enjoy your fair use rights then you should support the Digital Media Consumers' Rights Act of 2002.
