DShow video causing freezes after installing new gfx card
I'm guessing this is the best place to put this, even though I want to say this is probably a driver/dshow filter problem
I had a Matrox G550 dual-head card, and everything ran fine.
Now I got a GeForce 3 Ti-500 by MSI, and everything was running fine till I tried to watch an mpeg. It was fine till I started skipping around, and then my computer froze completely and could not be recovered without hitting the reset button. The same thing happenes with avi's of all codecs.
I am running the latest FFDshow filters, but since this happenes with mpegs and WMV's (which I don't set FFDshow to run) also I don't think that's the problem.
Heres the specs:
VIA KT266pro w/AMD 1333 T-bird
512mb DDR2100 Cas2 RAM
160gb hd space
MSI GF3 TI500 graphics card with latest Nvidia drivers
running Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP2 w/all security updates etc.
Anyone seen this problem before? If not, I'm gona reinstall Windows, but that's a bit of hassle I'd rather skip. |
