How do I get good image quality when I vid capture only, highest, videos, should

I'm using the Creative video blaster movie maker amp; the image quality that I get from capturing those videos are dreadfull even at the highest quality. I've been researching 4 this 4 quite sometime and found that I should use Vrdub and use Huffyuv to get good image quality. But since my vid cap is usb based it doesn't recognize my driver pls help.

my only suggestions is to try iuVCR if you are using Win2k or XP
