DGIndex and Audio Delay

Long ago i don't see delay in audio filename, and in lastest my encoding i see Delay -32ms. I preform delay in BeHappy/BeLight and i get bigger desynth with delay than without it. I am playing with this and i get right value about 120ms. In DVD Decrypter Stream information.txt says that audio has -112ms delay. I aslo get information when i open vobs into DGIndex gop is not closed, Using 1.46 and lastest 1.47b4. Help, Thanks

I need a VOB fragment to assess these problems. But if you have a value that works, just use that and be happy.

The GOP warning is harmless. It happens because the stream has been edited improperly.

Please just use ChopperXP to make a 40MByte VOB fragment.

If you prefer you can upload to my FTP site, which is not limited. PM me for the password if you want to go that route.

@neuron
Have you nail down this problem?
I'm asking you this 'cause I just remembered that I have a mpeg file with a similar problem.

I'm talking about a TV analogic capture to MPEG. I slpitted the file in two (private testing ) and the second half gets a bad delay from DGIndex (the real delay is quot;-120quot; and DGIndex gives me quot;-40quot; - the first half of the file is in fact quot;-40quot; ) and I also get the  quot;GOP Warningquot;.

The problem may be the software used on the cut (don't ask me what it was... I don't remember - I have these two clips hanging around my PC for ages  - but I think it was MpgTX)... the fact is that MediaInfo gives me the correct delay.

If you want I can cut a little chunk of it and sent it to you.

Thanks

Neuron2 please check this

-112ms delay?

@bxfy how to calculate that, becouse i found delay 120 but in DVD Decrypter's stream informations.txt says -112ms, i am very confused

Sorry Neuron2 your late. I don't have this file anymore, i soloved problem but if this show again i will report to you. If you want you can close discusion

Neuron2 there is new problem at same question, I use DGIndex 1.4.7b5 and i get file TheDukesOfHazzard T01 3_2ch 384Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3 but in DVD Decrypter stream information says

0x80 - Audio - AC3 / 6ch / 48kHz / DRC / English / LBA: 3655 / PTS: 00:00:00.053 / Delay: -80ms
0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 / 720x576 (PAL) / 16:9 / Letterboxed / LBA: 3649 / PTS: 00:00:00.133 / Delay: 0ms

Audio is desynched, but -80ms is correct delay value

I have exactly this same problem

I tried encoding a 24 episode
DVD decrypter gives me this which is correct I think

0x80 - Audio - AC3 / 2ch / 48kHz / DRC / English / LBA: 6 / PTS: 00:00:00.053 / Delay: -80ms
0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 / 720x576 (PAL) / 16:9 / Letterboxed / LBA: 1 / PTS: 00:00:00.133 / Delay: 0ms

But dgindex gives me an audio delay of zero, which is not correct. Or at least I think it's not. The video is PAL, so 80ms is exactly 2 frames out of sync.

Oh, and im using the latest dgindex.

Edit, i tested dvd2avi, and it gave me the correct audio offset.

It's about how to interpret the MPEG spec (what frame the PTS value refers to in an open GOP). I interpret it literally and I believe correctly. Which value gives you a synced output? If it is -80, please provide the VOB fragment.

I actually think 120ms is the correct value even though dvd decrypter says 80ms. It's not just the vob i've been having problems with, but loads.

Can i just pm you an ftp account so u can leech the vob ?

Yes, but don't cut the beginning because it changes everything.
