Burning Programs Confusion.....Compatibility

I'm using nero to burn on dvd-r and in my sony dvp-ns705 i had no problems so far.

But in my other dvd Samsung SV DVD1E i'm having this weird problem.

The dvd-r starts ok and the movie plays ok until it freezes or jumping from a chapter to another..... I used primo dvd to write dvd-r instead of nero but the same AGAIN!!!!!

Is it the dvd-r media??? Is it the Burnng Programm??? Or is it the player??? I'm confused because the Samsung CAN READ the disc but not for long!!!!!

Thank you in advance---------Greece----------

I've had the same problems when having multiple burning applications installed on my computer.  One dvd would work in one my players but not in the other 2.  Burning an image file would result in playback on another, but I was never able to get full compatibility until I went with one app (and took the others off permanently).  Prassi and Nero are equally as good from what I've read around here.  I've just had really good results with Prassi, so I have no plans on switching anytime soon!

i have good results with nero and record now (not the max version, although that also works) but yesterday i got and error message on nero. it said quot;couldn't create disc-at-oncequot; i played it on my standalone and it still works. it's very wierd cause i've burnt more dvd-r's before and didn't get that error message.

so i guess it's the media.....

because if the player can read the dvd-r it's ok!!!

I will try TDK and i'll get back to you...

Thanx for your replies

Also make sure you generate an Image first and then burn the image to the dvd-r. I read another thread on here where several people claimed that the resulting dvd-r was more compatible than if they just burned the files to the dvd-r using nero etc.

too bad i can't confirm that... my discs will work either way.
