trying to choose the right soundcard/speaker set
hi guys,
I'm trying to make a list of things too look for in speakers and soundcards. I have just read alot about dolby digital decoding andit's counterparts.
I now understand that for the 5.1 speaker set that i wish to obtain i will need a soundcard with a dolby digital decoder something that supports up at least up 2 48khz sampling (4 dvds) and 24bit sound (4 dvds). What is EAX i went to their site and they say all this stuff about it being good and it bringing sound to life what is it; is it like a pro-logic2 decoder for games or sometin? I've also heard that u need a seperate Dolby Digital hardware decoder for your speakers to obtain true dolby digital :s (my friend told me this)??
Also if the soundcard claims that it has a dolby digital decoder inbuilt does that mean that it also supports pro-logic and pro-logic 2 content?
kinda confused hoping to clear up
