CCE crash with non-standard resolution

Hi,

whenever I try to encode a DVD rip to SVCD with CCE (4-pass-ecoding), it hangs a couple of minutes into the encoding phase. This happens reliably with any DVD on two different computers. None of the tricks mentioned in the FAQ have helped, short of switching to CBR.

Funny thing is, it only happens when I stay with the DVD resolution (720x480/576). As soon as I tell DVD2SVCD to resize to SVCD resolution (480x480/576), CCE will run through fine, although the encoded video wiggles like hell from left to right on my Denon DVD player, but that's another story.

So, is CCE unable to encode DVD resolution?

No CCE does it fine.
Post your Avisynth file using cut and paste don't attach it.
Might not be a bad idea to post your log file as well, but in this case it might not help.

If you are using an AMD CPU are you sure add resample audio is checked?

It might not be a bad idea to run the Prime 95 Torture test.  You can find Prime 95 linked in the Q+A.  Although it sounds like the computer is fine if you can run CCE at SVCD resolution, but doesn't hurt to try it.
