Satellite capture and decrypt. Is it possible? possible, channels, needed, record

I'd like to buy an Hauppage NOVA so I will digitally record the MPEG2 stream and then reencode it to any other format.

I live in Europe (Italy) and I can see that lots of the channels I can see using my Satellite reciver, are encrypted and smartcards are needed for watch those channels.

So, Is it possible to use smartcards with Hauppage NOVA (since I have one for my provider)?

If not, is it possible to record the encrypted (black) trasmission and then decrypt it?

only the NOVA-CI has an interface for smartcards, and you need the right decryption module for your provider.

all other things would be illegal (and not yet possible with the NOVA style cards  )
