Problem with DVDShrink reading discs pop, posting, reading, because

I'm posting this here, as well as in the newbie forum because I'm not sure which was more appropriate.  I'm damn sure a newbie.

I've had this burner for a few months now, and have been using DVDShrink 3.2 from the day I got it.  And usually, it works fine.  Just pop the DVD in, hit Open Disc and voila.

But for quite a few DVDs I put in, when I hit Open Disc, and try to select from the drop-down Disc Drive menu, the DVD isn't showing up.  Some do, some don't.  I figured this might be a problem with some new fancy copyright security features or something, but then I popped in an old DVD that was a good 5 years old and the same thing.  Some DVDs, it reads fine, but some it doesn't.

Any help in solving this would be greatly appreciated.

Does the disk recognize properly under Windows Explorer?

Have you installed an older version of Roxio, which is known to wipe out the Autorun feature?
