Problem with DVDShrink reading discs pop, posting, anywhere, reading

I'm posting this here because I'm not sure if anywhere else was more appropriate.  I'm damn sure a newbie.

I've had this burner for a few months now, and have been using DVDShrink 3.2 from the day I got it.  And usually, it works fine.  Just pop the DVD in, hit Open Disc and voila.

But for quite a few DVDs I put in, when I hit Open Disc, and try to select from the drop-down Disc Drive menu, the DVD isn't showing up.  Some do, some don't.  I figured this might be a problem with some new fancy copyright security features or something, but then I popped in an old DVD that was a good 5 years old and the same thing.  Some DVDs, it reads fine, but some it doesn't.

Any help in solving this would be greatly appreciated.
