Thanks in advance for anybody who replys
I began converting some divx movies,to svcd using cce,but began getting strange results! The movie was fine-but had a purple haze over it!i put these movies aside but cant figure what im doing wrong-i though i might not hae the correct codecs installed so i made a stupid movie of uninstalling all my codecs, players etc - now it wont convert at all! My questions are below:
1.)
Im getting a message in cce
Frame size 756x56 is not supported. Supported Frame size is up to 756x560
The codecs i haev installed are:
Nimo.Codec.Pack.5.Build.7. - Shareactor
XviD_Install - From Divx Digest
Aspi
ASPI32.SYS V4.6(1021)
WOWPOST.EXE V4.6(1021)
WINASPI.DLL V4.6(1021)
WNASPI V4.6(1021)
it also says:ASPI is properly installed and full operational
dvd2svcd v 1.1.0 Build C
cce 2.5 SP Version 2.50.01.00 (SDK Version ) (at he top of cce it says SP --noname)
I read somewhere you should have too many-are these enough?am i missing some/a lot?
I thought while waiting to get cce to work again i would us TMPG but that aint working now either it comes up with errors while encoding the movie something like quot;a00010181quot; and i need to click quot;OKquot; then another comes up-this continues-i dont know if that is another thing altogether!
2.)
My computer seems to play wav files i create using audio programs but when i try to rip the audio from a divx movie in virtual dub it comes up with an error:
The Requested audio compression is not compatible with the input formate.Check that the sampling rate and channel count of the input match of the requested format
In roxio it i split the audioamp;video but it seems to not know what wav file is. In sound forge it said the wav file is unsupported!
Im following tutorials exactly i think im missing something have been stuck with this problem for ages. Can any experts out there help me out with a solution?Cheers again
Please read the following thread and supply the info it asks for.

In most cases if your AVI plays in media player DVD2SVCD can convert it if the frame rates are close to normal.
Lets drop the WAV stuff for now since it's not DVD2SVCD specific. It sounds like you really messed up your codecs though.
My real suggestion is wipe Windows and do a clean install.

Hi fracmo2000,
I'll answer your point 2 first.
I bet your DivX file has AC3 audio. So, when you try to save wav in Virtual Dub, you get that quot;Requested audio compression is not compatible with the input formatquot; error. You can sometimes see this in File gt; File Information. The solution is as follows oad yer flick into Virtual Dub
Under the audio menu button, select quot;Direct Stream Copyquot;
Then, go to File gt; Save WAV.
In the window that pops up, select All Files, NOT Windows audio
Save as whatever.ac3
You've now extracted the AC3 file, and can convert that to wav
Now, for the rest of it. I don't necessarily agree with the need to wipe Winblows. Try to install the Nimo Codec Pack, v5, build 8!! Also, I have difficulty converting DivX to SVCD using DVD2SVCD. There is a resize bug that seems to cause that Framesize not supported... error. Read this thread: showthread.ph...hreadid=21859, Q62 for how to get around it.
So, I've been making my coversions using TMPGEnc. But, this time, load the video, but then load the converted wav audio. That should help, and hopefully you won't get that TMPGEnc error anymore while encoding....
