Angle Question in a dvd Protection Structure

Hi All,
I make some  tests around the quot;home dvd protectionquot; as like Arccos (sony) and how to bypass these problems.I would to Know if in a multiangle structure (for example 2 Angle as my Attachment) the player  read the first Angle and show it and read the second angle but not show it.I mean the second angle is show when I select it by the
dvd language or  by the setup player .

Is possibile to damage the sector of Angle (not me because in not possible ... but Sony with her mastering process) ?There are  problems?

Please sorry for my English!I hope someone understanding what I'm saying....

Bye

DVD players skip the sectors of all but the selected angle. This is done during data recovery, the lowest level of processing. Damaged sectors would probably not cause a problem to this process. So, yes, it would be possible to have an unused angle with unreadable sectors for the purpose of protection.

I cannot approve attaching an ifo (see the sticky about requests for files), and the image was rather large, and not necessary to understand the question.

Many Thanks Mpucoder for your reply.I think you understand perfectly what I'm saying....

Another little question.....

In the last my quot;home protecion dvd testquot; I used the Navigation timer to Skip the time from 50 second to the end of the firts Chapter that contain 2 angle(to prevent the cut of the cell).
I damage the sector between this part of chapter that will not show using quot;compassoquot;(italian words ...I don't knowthe exactly word en English.. )
Is a circular damage sectors of the dvd-r surface.

I post this little structure:

VMG (VIDEO_TS.IFO)
------------------
VMG , First-Play PGC       ********** pre commands:          1  (JumpTT) Jump to Title 1        ********** post commands:       ********** cell commands:

VMGM , LU 1 (--):VTS 1 (VTS_01_0.IFO)
--------------------
VTSM 1 , LU 1 (--):

VTST 1:
VTST 1 , 1   TTN 1  (11:07)  Title 1 - Chapters: 3,  Programs: 3,  Cells: 4        ********** pre commands:          1  if ( gprm(0) == 1 ) then { Goto line 4 }           2  (SetNVTMR) Set Navigation Timer =(mov) 50, Jump to PGC 2           3  Break           4  LinkPTT Chapter 2        ********** post commands:          1  Exit        ********** cell commands:

VTST 1 , 2   (0:00) - Chapters: 0,  Programs: 1,  Cells: 1        ********** pre commands:          1  Set gprm(0) =(mov) 1        ********** post commands:          1  (JumpVTS_TT) Jump to TTN 1 in this VTS        ********** cell commands:
The problems is that the Navigation Timer Not work o.k. on all hardware o software players.

For Example:

Pioneer dv 340:  O.k.
Amstrad 3016 : Work O.k. but the seconds of SPRMS 9 is not 50 but 40Power dvd :Not Work ...the reproduction is normal until the end of the video.I think that this software
not implemented this function.

Ifo Edit player: O.k.Why this quot;bugquot; .... the NAvigation Timer is a standard features of dvd.Bye

Some players don't check the Nav Timer unless the cell is still. Although standard, the timer is not very reliable (as you discovered). It would be better to alter the cell structure and use a cell command to skip the multiangle part.

compasso = calipers

So, yes, it would be possible to have an unused angle with unreadable sectors for the purpose of protection. If the Player doesn't read the sector of an unused Angle ...
I think that Sony ArCCOs will  use  in a Pgc
(using Angle Change 4194304 in Puos) a situation like this:Chapter 1
Cell...Angle 1 CEll Command ..Set Angle 3
Cell...Angle 2 Damaged

Chapter 2
Cell ...Angle 1 DAmaged
Cell....Angle 2 Damaged
Cell....Angle 3 CEll Command ..Set Angle 2Chapter 3
CEll... Angle 1 DAmaged
CEll....Angle 2 Chapter 4...............I'm not completely sure if the command quot;SeT Angle Xquot; can be used in the CEll Commands  .Is the situation that you describe on .....

It would be better to alter the cell structure and use a cell command to skip the multiangle part.

or you mean to change the fisical sector in IFo (Vts_PGCITI.....VST_PGC _1) and (VTS_C_ADt)?

Thanks for your time...and patience
