horizonal lines in picture with CCE

i recently changed to the newest version of cce and since then i have had strange horizional lines in my picture (like where a person was in the last frame has little lines and then a solid picture where they are in the current frame) on play back most the lines are too small to see but when ever there is an rapid movement the picture looks really crappy... is this an interlacing problem? if it is what options do i need to select to get rid of it

thx for your help

ok i am pretty sure this in an interlace problem... when i run deinterlace the picture looks much better...

several questions:
1. why do the interlace lines not appear when the origional m2v is viewed in dvd2avi

2. does the d2v file add the interlace lines?

3. if not dvd2avi is it vfapi that is adding the interlace problem?

i dont want to spend anymore time authoring dvds until i get this currect problem taken care of.
and thx for your help in advance

edit...

i have been doing a bit of reading on dealing with interlacing and decided i should be using avisynth but when i started reading about all the possible filters to help correct the problem... i quickly because confused, there are quite a few choices and i was hoping someone who understand my problem could point me to the filters i should be using...

well, I do know that you can use the program (Bitrate Viewer) to see if your movie is interlaced or progressive. It's very quick and easy. Should find it in the download area. I'm not much help on avisynth. I'm just figuring it out myself.
