Salvage a backup and complete it?

Ok, here goes... everytime I try the all big 3 new guide, everything I realise something went wrong. For instance, my DVD was 2.8GB this morning instead of the usual 4GB ... I had only changed my settings from 8 passes to 5 passes, thinking the difference wouldnt be so big. I thought passes had nothing to do on the bitrate anyway? The DVD should have been the same size, no?

Anyway, that's not my problem... my 2nd attemps at this succedeed, but I shouldnt have re-encoded VTS02 and I didnt... which means, when I launch the DVD, after the MGM logo, the preview is a black screen. But all the rest is good. Is there any way for me to re-encode the VTS02 and somehow rebuild the DVD without having to re-do the entire process from scratch? That would save me a lot of time

@TigerLord.
I am wondering... If your preview is a black screen (I presume you mean a preview of another movie), did you remove this in Scenaid (ie uncheck the pgc). If you did, then at present (i think), Sceanid will generate a black still that lasts the same length of time as the original preview. If this is the case then all you need to do is open the DVD in pgcedit, select the PGC that is at fault and Kill it. This will have the affect of bypassing the still.
2nd option is to open up the .scn file and locate the offending vobid, and manually alter its' length and recompile.

If you wanted to keep the preview and accidentaly unselected it, then i'm afraid you will need to re-encode, as bitrate is needed for that asset, which means the other assets will need to have their bitrates reduced. You could get away with just re-encoding the extras though (Scenaid will let you alter the bitrates for the main/extras). Just manually encode with the bitrates Scenaid has recommended.

Yes, it's a blackscreen... but the sound is heard still... it was unchecked by doitfast4u, so it might have been left out ... but the sound is a little weird too, so Im not sure what to do with this now...

Ill try the 1st option you proposed

Very strange. If it was unselected by DIF4U, then the original VOB will have been put into the VIDEO_TS folder. In scenaid, this VTS will not show up.
If you manually play this VOB file - does it play? try PowerDVD or WinDVD, or do you get just the audio again?
