XXX: State of the Union failed on RC4
I don't know anyone has problem backing up XXX: State of the Union on RC4. It caused on buffer overflow (error #3). Is there any fix for this?
R1 Disc?
Does it happen during Encode or Rebuild?
Does it have ILVU material?
I backed up this disc about 1 week ago and posted too. Not 1 reply. My backup played fine but the button highlights did not work for selecting the 4 different angles in vts05. The angles worked but you had to manually select with remote control on stand alone or by right clicking and selecting thru Power DVD 5. I used RC3 Region 1 NTSC. I was wondering if anyone else tried this movie or noone responds to first time posts.
The button highlights problem should have been fixed with RC4 (see the release notes).
@tl007
Any additional processing, modifications, etc..? That error only seems to occur when the source has been changed in some way.
I did not preprocess, did full movie backup, and tried with v1.00RC2 and RC3. Did not try with RC4. Burned to dvd-r and it played back perfectly, just no button highlights to choose angles. The remote does that just fine though. I just wanted to report my experience and see if my 2 cents can help out. I've been very pleased with the results of my backups. Maybe down the road I will try it again with RC4 or later version but I am satisfied with it the way it is. Thanks again for your great program!

judging by how that movie did in the box office, its more likely noone had tried it at the time. And welcome to the forum, btw
Actually, the problem is caused with DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.3. After I rip the DVD with DVD Decrypter, it's OK. But I don't know how to check angle stuff.
I just used DVD Decrypter 4.5 and burned State of the Union to an iso, mounted it on a virtual drive and shrank it with dvd shrink, i'm burning it now, previews all look good. There must be some kind of copyright protection on this - it would crash right at the beginning of the movie. I got a third copy which at that point, I realized it must be a quot;phonyquot; error. But this worked for me.
Of course, doing it that way you will also have to live with the pixelization and motion vector issues...
Always try ripping with DVD Decrypter without any special settings. I've backed up several hundred DVDs and have never once gotten a buffer overflow. I've also yet to have found one that didn't work with Decrypter.
Funny you say that, I used to say the same thing. The first three copies of the movie stopped in exactly the same place. I then tried a quot;brand newquot; movie which did the same thing. This was XXX-State of the Union, have you tried that one yet? Normally if something don't work, a little Pledge and wipe down the dvd and it will copy - but this one just wouldn't and to stop in exactly the same place?? I got a CRC error. Trust me, this has got to be some kind of new copyright. I didn't have a problem with the pixelation and motion vector issues, maybe I didn't look that close? Yes, thanks for reminding me to change those settings back. But try that dvd and see if you have no problems with it, maybe i'm just losing it Originally Posted by jdobbsOf course, doing it that way you will also have to live with the pixelization and motion vector issues...

I'll try it later tonight. Are we talking about the Region 1 version?
I just ripped it into an ISO file with DVD Decrypter without issue. It's reencoding now. I'll let you know if I find anything unusual.
@jdobbs - so sorry you had to buy this disk, hope it wasnt my $15 you used!!!
It was somebody's... and it makes my collection one movie larger. That's where the donations go...
It's 96.1% complete with the encoding. I'm interested to see if it plays ok.
So -- are you saying it sucks? |
