Adding Metatag information to exsisting AVI files
I was wondering if there was any way to add metatag information to an AVI file (Such as author, comments, title, etc) to an AVI file after it has been already encoded, other then using a direct audio and video stream copy to remake the file.
Older versions of Vdubmod used to allow you to do this while saving the file, but the option seems no longer avaliable.
The newest versions of Vdub let you do this, but only when saving a file, it dosent allow you to just add the information to an already exsisting AVI file.
I would encode my files in Vdub instead of Vdubmod, but I use VBR MP3 audio for my avi files, which Vdubmod supports but Vdub only allows WAV or a direct stream copy of the source.
Suggestions Anyone?
in VDM i think you are looking for quot;Video comments' under the streams menu.

Thank you, but there are two problems with that method.
1. Vdubmod dosent give you the default tag ID, you need to input it yourself, I dont know the tag ids. Why it even gives you the option to edit the tag ID ill never know, especially without giving you the default one.
2. I have many videos that are already encoded, I need a way to insert the tag info into them without re-encoding them with audio and video set to direct stream copy, therefore creating basically a copy of the original.
I can see the problem in point 1, but not in point 2 since VDM allows you to DSC...
I don't know of anything else that can add/edit meta data to/of AVI files though...
