Is RealAnime bloated?

Do you think realanime has too much stuff in it and makes it hard to use?

A cmon, vote yes!!!

better focus on realamp;x264

What if I would... only focus on x264?

Q: Will there be new releases after 3.0?
A: Very unlikely.

as you have said, if it is very time consuming to keep RealAnime with all the previous features updated and enabled (for example, support of many audio input sources, mpeg, or even RV10, etc).
i should say, focus on x264, and from time to time release an updated version.
(which it will have an updated encoder, besweet/light, h264 encoder settings parameters....).
Thus, realanime will be easier to use it, just: audio via besweet, video via x264, output via .MKV done!Alternative: or until the last Naruto episode is emitted in japan  hehe

Well, that's already in progress  Can't say more

Wouldn't that just make it a clone of existing software like MeGUI and AutoAC?
Looking at the feature list, the variety of input formats is something rather unique to an integrated tool, and which truly separates it from all the other RV encoding application (showthread.php?t=82042). One thing that certainly wouldn't hurt getting rid off is VP6 supporting seeing that it's outdated today.

IMO RealAnime got too much features and is bloated. I don't even use all of them myself. It's heavy to code and maintain. Also, IMO RV is outdated as well as many other codec (for anime).

No. It's a stripped down version of RealAnime. Same input capabilities, limited codecs, output to MKV like 3.0, input track management, same filters, etc.

Have a look here: RealAnimeLE.exe

I have no special case for VP6, it's a VFW codec like others and is managed the same way. I'm not keeping VFW codecs in the new version. Too much troubles for little gain. Better work with CLI

the gui looks great, i'd say it's a good way to go
cann't wait to see the release

I never thought I'd ever hear you say that. Even though it's clearly not my codec of choice, I think you're being too harsh on it and there will always be people who prefer to smoothness of RealVideo over anything else.

You can always smooth with x264 . On anime content, x264 keeps more details than RV at lower bitrate. Keeping RV would mean also to keep producer, which is not up to date and have many flaws I don't want to carry anymore. People can always stick with RealAnime 3.0 for encoding with RealVideo and RealAudio.

Also, RealAnime LE will be more focused on anime encoding than general encoding.

no RV is not outdate, in the East everbody use RV

Explain that more

That's good to know! I am sorry there have not been many RealVideo updates recently, the latest RV10 is pretty stable; fortunately there are enough other codec updates to keep every enthusiast happy testing and comparing

Now H264 (Nero HP and perhabs x264 HP) or VP7 are very better than RV10 for all source type (even anime).

Producer use aac/aac+ for audio codec ... why not MPEG4 AVC for RV11 ... ???

On anime, x264 is the best one. Nero showed artefacts and VP7 oversize too much.

Siber, long time not post here, that's because I didn't do many encoder work these month.
After several months, I'm surprising to see x264 so well developed, and it can almost replace RV10 in low-bitrate Anime encoding, but in some of my test, it still have some obvious blocking compare to RV10/Nero at about 400Kbps of one OP of Anime. I do know that 400Kbps for an OP may not sufficient, but it really a defect of x264. Hope it will be still improving.
And for RealAnime, glad to see 3.0 is finally out after so long time waiting  , and it becomes much more stable. But as you mentioned, it becomes some what bloated. In my option, it needs to accept as much kinds of input as possible, and for the output, I prefer RV10 and x264 in the current stage, and if I could only choose one, I prefer x264.  So the RV8 and RV9 is definited useless and could be removed. And the output format, I prefer MKV. I never use OGM or MP4 (but someone else may use). About the sound, I know besweet is a good choice, but I've found there's a AAC+PS+SBR encoder comes out and is tuned by someone in the DbAmpPower(a converter), and it can give a considerable result in 32/40/48Kbps, I don't know whether it has some improvements to the encoder in Besweet in HE-AAC at about 64Kbps. So personally I may want to try use that encoder. But to make the things easier instead of make it more BLOATED  , I think maybe you can keep one or two core video/audio encoder and provide a way to also let us encode with some command lines. And I don't think only support x264 will make RealAnime the same as MeGUI or other GUI, because I think the strength of RealAnime is that it accepts more kind of input and it provides more flexibility to the user, I hope it will be both easy to use and powerful and extensible. Maybe a foobar2000 like architecture is needed? I'm dreaming....

Well, RealAnime 3.0 as you know is the latest. I started working on a new project which will use only x264 and besweet.
