Film credits jerky but rest of film ok

Can anyone help ?

I have just backed up a DVD9 to DVDR by using CCE to reencode the video. The film is PAL,16:9, and Progressive as far as I can tell. I have encoded as progressive with the normal settings as per the Doom9 guide. The film when burnt and played on my settop is 100% until it gets to the film credits at the end. The credits are very jerky even when I pause the dvd. Interestingly enough when I set the DVD players 'Pause Mode' to Field the jerkiness disappears.

Does this behaviour represent a hybrid title. That is Progressive for the film then Interlaced for the titles. If so, what do I do about it ?

I had the same problem when i backed up the quot;Diana Krall - Live In Parisquot; concert.

If you encoded with the 'upper field first' selected, try encoding again but uncheck it this time.

Worked a treat.
