IfoUpdate enhancement ?

Hi out there !

Since the new versions of IfoUpdate with Adjusted Cell-Mode
it's getting very much easier to backup or author Multi-PGC-Titles...

... great job jdobbs, thanx !

@jdobbs:

... but wouldn't it be great to have also the possibility to save these
quot;adjustedquot; chapter files for IfoEdit, so you wouldn't have to use Maestro ?Greetz, Nemesis

I can do that easily.  But if you're using NTSC with FILM and have to use Pulldown (which is most of the time), the VOB multiplexor in IFOEDIT doesn't work right... the timing get off, so be careful.

PLZ PLZ PLZ add IFOEdit collated output...

I did ask for this after ver 0.62 was released.. but seemed to go unnoticed at the time......

quot;JDobbs....

Firstly many thanks for the ongoing development work on IFOUpdate...

I have a request, if it's not too presumptious...

can you please, please, add an quot;IFOEdit Collated CellTimesquot; output to IFOUpdate.

At the moment i'm editing ADJUSTED-CCE.TXT to create this, which then allows use of multiplex in IFOEdit to rejoin m2v/ac3/subs/chaps.. NO AUTHORING required... i've posted an example of 16 PGC title i had NP updating /reintegrating with v0.62 quot;While on the subject.. since adopting the Cell-Adjusted method I haven't use any authoring app.. must have backed up about 15 - 20 titles . wide variety of structures.. found probs only with multiPGC structure as below

PGC 1 - Still (12 frames - Silent)
PGC 2 - Video (250 frames - Silent)
PGC 3 - Movie
PGC 4 - Extras

The audio went out of sync on above.. as DVD2AVI only served the still as a single field.. instead of 12 frames (which is stipulated in the IFO)

I cured it by zeroing the delay on the audio.. and then adding 500ms delay (12 Frames)...

@Nemesis25

Here you go.  Attached is v0.66
- Added angle indications to the graphic view. VOB Cells now say whether they are FOA (First of Angle), MOA (Middle of Angle), or LOA (Last of Angle).
- Fixed a minor bug that made the Original file's path sometimes not get updated.
- Added an additional output file to quot;Adjusted Modequot; for authoring with IFOEDIT

Enjoy.

ATTACHMENT DELETED -- NEWER VERSION BELOWAll,

In working with MakeItEasy I identified a bug that exists in the quot;Adjusted Cell Modequot; update routines that has been around for several versions.  I've fixed it and below is a new(er) version v0.67.

JDobbs....

many thanks... you are a gentleman...

@jdobbs

...great work, thanx...
...that's making the CCE-IfoEdit-Backup even more easier

Appreciate your work on IfoUpdate amp; MakeItEasy...Greetz, Nemesis

JDobbs...

Ifoupdate is an amazing tool, and I've been able to backup all the dvd's I've tried succesfully with it - thank you very much.

I was wondering if there is a reason the chapter points don't come out correctly for me when authoring in DVD Maestro.  I wrote a small utility that changes the chapters times Ifoupdate outputs so that they import correctly, but it seems like it shouldn't be necessary.  All it does it change the timecodes to be based on 30fps rather that 29.97fps.  I've tested it on the episodes of ST:TNG that I have encoded and it seems to work properly.

Just thought maybe you might include an option in your next version so that it outputs the times differently.

@TIM2,

That's interesting.  The ones I create are based on 30fps because that is how they are stored on the disc...  You must be NTSC.  I'm not positive, but my guess is that the times are off by the drop-frame amount.  That means that the chapter would be off by (approximatly) two frames for every minute of video.  That would be one second for every 15 minutes, and 4 seconds per hour.  Does that sound about right?

@jdobbs:

Hi,

may I come back to my special request for a CLI version ? I finished this 'DVD2AVI wrong framecount correction'. Very usefull for VobID (CellID) re-authoring. The only user intervention left is the IfoUpdate 'Chapter for VobID Authoring' export. I would hate to simulate this by macro-keystroke recording/playback.

P.S.
If somebody is interested how I solved it, drop me a note (here).

It already supports CLI... just tell me what you want it to do.

@jdobbs

Yes, that's exactly what's happening.  The interesting thing is is that the utility I wrote converts the times from 29.97fps to 30fps, and it lines up perfectly, so somehow the times are being calculated at 29.97 by ifoupdate.

So far the only dvd's I've encoded are Sex amp; The City seasons 1-3, and a couple discs of ST:TNG season 1, but the results are exactly the same for both.

Hi,

oh, I missed something, have been to busy with my VD scripting.
Ok, I would like IfoUpdate to open a certain IFO and export the chapters for VobID Authoring (Maestro/Scenarist and CCESP).
In the mo I write a new .ini ;-) and run a Macroplayback.

thx. for your support, mike

@jdobbs:

ifoupdate -of:\video_ts\vts_01_0.ifo -cd:\tmp -ev

is supposed to export chapters for VobID Authoring from F:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO into folder D:\TMP, isen't it ?

hmmm, -c is ignored all the time (the chapter path), whatever I put here (d:\tmp, d:\tmp\) and -e doesn't work as well it just stops with the mask open no export mode selected and therefore the Save button is grayed out.

Pls., can you tell me what I am doing wrong. I tried with a complete set of parameters no luck as well. The rest of the paths are entered into the INI correctly.

OS WinNT 4.0, Ver. 0.67.

regards, mike
