Great visual quality but horizontal flicker
I'm using a Dazzle DV-bridge to capture a football game from a 4 head VCR.
Then edited the DV files in Media Studio 6.5 and save the edited files as DV1.
Next using CCE 2.66 to convert to mpeg-2 using robshot method.
Quality of mpeg is beautiful on computer.
Quality of standalone dvd player is equally impressive EXCEPT when the camera makes any horizontal movement. Then the picture has a slight flicker. When the dvd is paused it is a very blurry picture.
I've read posts about field order for hours and tried every fix I could find to no avail.
I've read that DV is always field order B. Does anyone know if the Dazzle dv bridge captures by chance as field order A?
At this point I have no clue what to try next. I've encoded with top field checked/unchecked in CCE and tried using pulldown to change fields to even. I've even encoded with progressive checked just see if anything would change. The only change in any of the three is that sometimes the flicker seems a bit worse.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thnx!
It could be field dominance, but more likely you're just seeing the famous interlaced artifacts from motion. Unlike film, video camera fields are temporally seperate. You could try deinterlacing.
I'm also moving this to the capture forum, as they can be more helpful. |
