DOIF4U and CCE error??? Please Help
I am having trouble with DOIF4U or CCE, im not sure which program the error is with. I am attempting to make a DVD Backup of Training Day. This is my First attempt at backing up a DVD and I had the one used in the guide, which I thought would make things simpler.
I Use DOIF4U and make sure all the settings are as written in the Doom9 Guide.
-Firstly, Do i quot;tickquot; all of the VTS files and then press DO IT, or do I tick only one at a time, it seems to crash if i tick all in one go and press DoIt?(this is probably an unrelated problem.)
I dont want subtitles so I did not tick the VobSub box, and Training day does not require demux by VobID. The Problem is that I CLICK quot;Do Itquot; and wait, and when The Whole Process is completed I look into the directories containing all the newly produced files, and there are no AVS files, just m2v and the ac3 etc. (there are supposed to be AVS files arent there?) I look at the log in DOIF4U and there are places where it says quot;starting D2V Processingquot; and then says quot;Error: no D2V files foundquot;. If I run the whole process again on the same VTS then the error message goes, and DVD2AVI does something, but this does not produce AVS files!!!
I assume that AVS files are required as that is what the guide says to put into CCE. and when I try to load M2V files into CCE it says they are invalid files. I have tried putting all the different types of file into CCE and none are accepted. Is the problem with CCE or DOIF4U???
I am sorry if this problem is blatently obvious but I am new to this and would greatly appreciate any help you can give.
James
First of all welcome to the forum.
Have u installed avisynth?
avs scripts r required to proccess the m2vs that were demuxed by decrypter. CCE can't be fed with m2vs streams. It produces them. It must be fed with avi files.
I believe that your installation is wrong. Reinstall and post again.
Hi, Thanks for your input. I did not have AVISynth installed, and so I uninstalled DoItFast4U, then Installed AVI Synth and then DoItFast4U again. However the same thing happened on DIF4U. The Log below is what it showed when I tried just to run it on the first VTS...

VTS_01_PGC_01_1 - 0x84 - Audio - AC3 - 2ch - 48kHz - DRC - English - DELAY -80ms.AC3
VTS_01_PGC_01 - Stream Information.txt
VTS_01_0.IFO
doitfast4u.log
HOWEVER, interestingly, after DIF4U has fininshed what it is doing, if again I press Do It, (to repeat the exact same process), this time it does something different. This time it loads up DVD2AVI while it is running which it doesnt the first time, but when it is all finished there is still no AVS script in the directory, but there is in addition to the files above:
VTS__01_P01-84ch2English.AC3
VTS__01_P01.4~3_1.d2v
VTS__01_P01.4~3_1.M2V
VTS__01_P01.4~3_1.AVS-no-cce lt;--- ODD!?
What I think is happening is that DOIF4U is doing operations before the previous ones are completed, as on the second run it loads up DVD2AVI the same time as dvd decrypter and then halfway through the DVD2AVI processing it goes on to make an AVS script on the incomplete D2V file. Then while DVD2AVI and DVD decrypter are still running DIF4U says: Task Completed!!!
Any help is again very appreciated. I have tried downloading older versions of DIF4U and versions from other sites but they still all do the same!!!
Thanks, James
Your log is very weird.
A typical log goes like this:
(21:59:47) C:\Program Files\DVD Decrypter\DVDDecrypter.exe
(21:59:48) File to rename= VTS_02_PGC_01_1 - 0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 - 720x480 (NTSC) - 16~9 - Pan-Scan.M2V

(21:59:48) Rename to= VTS__02_P01.16~9_1.M2V
(21:59:48) renerr= 183 vobid= 0 sub= 0 y= 1 iSUBPGC= 0
(21:59:48) Finished Processing VTS 02 PGC 1 ANGLE 1
Is it zipping thru this whole process? Like when you press Do It does it only take a second or so before you get the 'no .d2vs found' error? Sounds like it's not detecting when programs are still running, but I have no idea why as I've never heard of this before.
I just released 1.0.9 which uses a different method to detect whether programs have ended. Please let me know if this issue still exists.
Hi, Thanks for your reply. You are right, the process finishes after a few seconds not waiting for programs to close, I will install the new release and try it out.
Thanks
James
The New version failed to solve the problem. I really cant understand what is going wrong. I have ininstalled DIF4U and reinstalled AVISynth2, DVD Decrypter and then reinstalled DIF4U and still exactly the same error keeps coming up. It finishes the whole process in about 5-10 secs and leaves DVD Decrypter running to finish the files it is ripping, every time daying there are no D2V files, because DVD2AVI has not loaded!
I would be very grateful for anymore help you can give me.
James
I'm stumped. I even went and rented Training Day and was able to run DIF4U on it successfully. What OS are you using?
XP Service Pack 1.
I'm going to try it out on my other machine and see how I fare at it.
Thanks for trying Training day out! But it has happened to other DVD's Aswell. I am using Region2 DVDs. Any problem there?
I will also have a go using my external DVD writer and use that to read from the DVD directly instead of copying it over. Although I cant really see that helping!!!
How does the program locate the DVD decrypter EXE?? I believe that DVD Decrypter is the problem application that it doesnt respond to properly. Should I install DVD Decrypter before or after installing DIF4U and should it be in the same directory as DIF4U as there is not a copy of it in the DIF4U directory at the moment?!
Thanks
James
It gets the location of DVDDEC from the registry entry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DVD Decrypter\InstallDirectory
You need to install DVDDEC separately. It doesn't matter if it's before or after DoItFast4U is installed.
How does DIF4U detect whether DVDDEC has finished its current operations and decide to Open DVD2AVI?Here is my log, Is it supposed to say line 4 quot;NO FILES DEMUXEDquot;???

In a nutshell.. DIF4U opens DVDDec, getting the handle to the process. It then waits around for an exit code to be received, telling it that the process has terminated.
Does DVDDec open at all?
Yes MANY instances of DVDDEC open but then DIF4U continues as if it has finished! leaving all the DVDDEC instances to complete.
So for some weird reason DIF4U is not getting the proper handle or is getting the EXIT call from the process much to early. Ill have a think about it.
James
Do you have any strange utilities on your system? This is a very isolated incident, not a single other user is having this issue. I'm wondering if you have something running in the background that is causing a fake EXIT reading?
I assume all the automated programs do work correctly without DIF4U's help? I.E. have you tried it maually yet - decrypting the DVD with DVDDecrypter, writing the AVS file, running it through DVD2AVI, etc. I ask because before this started you didn't have AviSynth installed/confirmed working, so it is possible there is a problem with one of the other programs - or rather how they are installed - rather than DIF4U.
Yeah all of the other programs work perfectly well alone. I use DVD decrypter a lot and have had no problems.
I tried closing every posssible application and running DIF4U and Nothing succeded. It still finishes in aout 10 seconds!. I have had a thought, the first time I installed DIF4U, AVISynth was not installed. so I then reinstalled after AVISynth was installed. This did not fix the problem, but I am wondering if DIF4U left any files on the HD or keys in the reg that did not get removed in an uninstall that it continues to use?! could you possibly give me a list of keys and files it leaves behind.
Thanks,
James
...tixpro.10.html
I also removed and reinstalled my firewall and antivirus software because Optix attacks them.
This trojan is commonly spread by an infected trillian download from kazaa.
Hope I was of help to those with problems.
Thanks to Eyes`Only for recognizing regsrv.exe as a virus.
