What filters are recommended for encoding a 45 minute clip to around 350mb?
I am not fussed about the amount of time it takes to encode a movie so with that in mind I was wondering what filters people recommend for encoding a 45 minute clip to around about 350mb (128 kbps mp3). If you recommend TBilateral and MipSmooth what AviSynth command lines should I use? Thanks in advance.
The right place to ask is either the Newbies Forum or the AviSynth Usage forum. --gt; thread moved.
There's three basic sets of medium filters: analog capture, dvb capture, and dvd ripping, and each require different filtering depending on how bad artifacts are. (plus misc stuff like avis, vcds, and so on.) Then there's a number of filters to correct problems in the source, like blending and interlacing. Finally, many cleanup and enhancement filters, which often must differ significantly between real life and cartoon footage.
So you can see why it's hard to recommend best filters. What you should do is go through the avisynth manual and check out all the 3rd party filters there, and some threads like the denoiser sticky. If you run into trouble, post asking for help with a specific source (along with a clip of the source) along with what you've tried.
Yes my apologies for being so vague! I think I'll stick to the MipSmoother which works very quickly and extremely well.
Well, you could also post a sample so we can actually help you....
if you're using x264 you'll be able to squeeze a lot of detail into that 350 megs. if time is not a factor, i suggest doing a couple of test encodes to see how much you can get away with. quite possibly you'll only need IVTC (if your source is DVD). otherwise some analog cleanup filters might be in order. |
