POV 7800GT video-in problems

I can´t get my video-in to work on my POV 7800GT card.
I have a scart connection on the VCR and I use a quot;scart to s-videoquot; cable. I connect the s-video to my graphics card.

I have installed the WDM drivers, tried several WDM capturing programs but without any luck.

Is there a way to test the computer system so that i know if it is the computer/driver issue in some way? possible to test the card somehow?

Hi!I have a scart connection on the VCR and I use a quot;scart to s-videoquot; cable.

Can you test the cable by connecting it to something else?I connect the s-video to my graphics card.

Are you sure you connected it to the S-Video quot;INquot; connection?

Unfortunatly I can not test the cable to see if there is an output from the VCR. But I have tried with two different VCR:s.
I have tried both the s-video in and out on the videocard, just to be sure.

Is the scart output RGB or Composite?

I don´t know. How can I tell?

Not sure what you mean. I read the manuals for the VCRs and it doesn´t specify. I tested both s-video and composite in the different appz when i try to capture.

Could it be that the cable only works as a s-video (OUT) to SCART?

VCRs rarely output S-Video through the SCART lead. Most do composite, and a few do RGB.

And yeah like helvete said, that cable might be working the wrong way. Does that SCART to S-Video cable have a switch to put it into input or output mode?

I also have also POV 7800GT and tried to use a Scart-S-video cable. That didn't work because my VCR couldn't output S-video from scart. That is probably your problem too...

Solution in my case was to use a Scart-Composite cable.

Solution in my case was to buy a new cable. New one has a switch to set direction of the cable. Yey!

Now I need a tutorial how to get the best looking image. Not sure where to start. Any hints?
